Taking a taxi helps curb drink-drive tragedies

09 December 2009

Manchester-based solicitors Rowlands are backing the government's seasonal anti-drink drive campaign by advertising their legal services on the city's black cabs.

Rowlands joint-managing partners Tony Broadley and Jon Andrews believe the new advertising campaign will send out a timely message as revellers prepare to celerbate Christmas and the New Year.

"We are totally behind the government’s THINK! strategy for drink driving," said Tony. "People who drive at twice the legal alcohol limit are at least 30 times more likely to cause a road accident than a motorist who hasn't had anything to drink."

Specilist solicitors at Rowlands are well aware of the tragic and far-reaching consequences of drink driving, as they have represented the victims of numerous alcohol-related road accidents.

Jon added: "Any amount of alcohol affects your ability to drive and there is no reliable way of drinking and keeping under the limit, so it makes much more sense to leave the car at home and take a taxi."

Rowlands is running the six-month advertising campaign as part of a broader programme to promote the firm’s services in the city centre, where most of its clients are based.

The advertisements will appear on eight city centre cabs and feature Rowlands' logo as well as specialist services including Private Client , Employment law, and Family law.
