Other IP rights

There are a number of other IP rights of very particular application (sometimes referred to as “sui generis rights”) including broadcast rights, performance rights, moral rights (including the right to have ones work correctly attributed), circuit topography rights and plant breeders rights.

Overseas there are other rights not immediately recognisable in English law such as petty patents (Germany and elsewhere) and innovation patents (Australia), utility models, registered copyright (USA) and in France the “Droit de suite” (of interest to artists who retain a financial interest in their works as they change hands).

In conjunction with our professional colleagues overseas we are able to advise on the appropriate forms of protection available in foreign jurisdictions as well as in the UK.
